BIG SIGNAL 6BS-2
6-Element Cubical Quad Antenna for DX and Weak-Signal Operation on 144 MHz
The BIG SIGNAL 6BS-2 is a 6-element directional Cubical Quad antenna specifically developed for operators looking for gain, directivity, and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio on the 144 MHz / 2-meter band.
Its architecture based on full-wave loop elements provides a highly interesting alternative to traditional Yagi antennas, especially for terrestrial DX, weak-signal operation, SSB, digital modes, and demanding VHF links.
Band: 144 MHz / 2 m
Type: Single-band directional Cubical Quad
Elements: 6 full-wave elements
Applications: DX / weak signals / SSB / digital modes
Design: High directivity and excellent signal-to-noise ratio
Assembly: Pre-assembled elements
Why Choose the BIG SIGNAL 6BS-2?
• 6 Full-Wave Loop Elements
The 6BS-2 uses full-wave closed-loop elements, one of the fundamental characteristics of the Cubical Quad design and the basis of its excellent performance on 144 MHz.
• High Gain in a Compact Design
Its six-element configuration is designed to provide high directional performance without requiring an excessively long structure, making installation easier on towers and compact rotator systems.
• Clean Reception and Excellent Signal-to-Noise Ratio
The closed-loop geometry of its elements can contribute to a better signal-to-noise ratio in the presence of certain types of electrical interference, an especially valuable advantage when working with signals close to the reception threshold.
• High Directivity and Selectivity
Its directional radiation pattern helps concentrate energy toward the desired direction while reducing signals arriving from unwanted directions, improving the ability to separate stations and work DX under demanding conditions.
• Good Performance with Polarization Variations
The Cubical Quad geometry can be less sensitive to certain changes in the polarization of received signals, helping provide more stable reception under variable propagation conditions.
• Quick and Easy Assembly
The elements are supplied pre-assembled to simplify installation and reduce the time required to get the antenna ready for operation.
An Antenna with a Place in VHF History
Used by EA8CXN in a Historic Transatlantic 144 MHz Contact
The BIG SIGNAL 6BS-2 was used by César, EA8CXN, in one of the most remarkable tropospheric contacts made on the 2-meter band, from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean. A real-world example of the potential of a well-optimized station when antenna performance, propagation, and operating conditions come together favorably.
Note: Long-distance communication results depend on multiple factors, including propagation, location, antenna height, transmit power, system losses, and installation conditions.

When IO-117 covers the United States, I usually can't hear it until it's at least 10 degrees elevation. And I usually can't hit the satellite on transmit until it's nearly 20 degrees. With the new antenna, I heard and hit the satellite at about 3 degrees elevation.

Trato excelente y antena espectacular.
